Choose open play if you’re ready to practice, meet other players, and get more comfortable at the table. Upcoming open play events are great for players who know the basics and want a fun, relaxed way to keep learning, build confidence, and enjoy real games with others.

No experience is needed. These lessons are designed for true beginners and anyone who wants a clear, friendly introduction to the game.

Private lessons require a minimum of 4 players. The lesson price is for the whole group of 4, 8 or 12 players.

Beginner lessons typically cover tile identification, how to read the NMJL card, the Charleston, gameplay basics, and how winning hands work.

No. Mahjongg setups are provided for the lesson.

Guests should bring a NMJL card if they already have one. If you do not have one yet, that is okay for your first lesson.

Lessons are hosted at your location within 30 minutes of Ellington, CT. If you prefer not to host, we can also arrange for your group to meet in Ellington.

A travel fee may be added for locations more than 30 minutes from Ellington, CT.

Yes. Private Mahjongg lessons are perfect for girls’ nights, birthdays, neighborhood groups, family gatherings, and anyone who wants a fun, beginner-friendly activity.

You will leave with a strong understanding of the basics and more confidence at the table. Mahjongg takes practice, but this lesson will help you feel much more comfortable getting started.

Tickets are non-refundable unless the event is canceled by New England Mahj Co. If you are unable to attend, please contact us as soon as possible, if someone from the waitlist wants to join, we can provide a credit to a future event.
