Curious about mahjong but not sure where to start? Join New England Mahj Co. at Hawk’s Landing Country Club in Southington for a fun, beginner-friendly Mahjong 101 experience designed to have you feeling confident at the table.

We’ll walk you through the basics of American Mahjong and then put it all together with guided play and instructor support. No experience is necessary!

• Learn the tiles and basic setup

• Read and understand the NMJL card

• Learn the Charleston

• Build a winning hand

• Learn drawing, discarding, calling tiles, and exposures

• Guided gameplay with instructor support

• Complimentary welcome drink

All mahjong tiles and game materials will be provided. Hawk’s Landing’s menu will also be available for guests who would like to order food or additional drinks. Please plan on arriving 10 minutes early.
